Lael Neale - As Killers Do (Vinyl)

Lael Neale follows three Sub Pop albums with As Killers Do, the first release on her own Consensual Sound label. Recorded at home in Echo Park with longtime collaborator Guy Blakeslee on a cassette eight-track, it moves through garage rock, lo-fi folk, Paisley Underground influences and surrealist psych-pop. Neale’s Omnichord and crystalline vocals remain central, while Blakeslee adds psychedelic guitar. Across songs including ‘Slip Away’, she considers anxiety, impermanence and life amid an increasingly chaotic digital world, retaining the handmade DIY approach that runs through her music, videos and artwork.
