Stone Anthem is the alias of UK multi-instrumentalist Archie Ingram, who began the project in his early teens, self-releasing music from 2019 onwards. Solus Rex gathers that exploratory spirit into a cohesive set of psychedelic and electronic compositions, moving between dense noise, drifting ambience, and more melodic passages.

Drawing on drone, dream pop and experimental electronics, Ingram builds layered, textural pieces that shift in tone without settling into one style. There’s a sense of curiosity running throughout, with sounds stretching and folding into each other rather than following fixed structures.

Support and collaboration with figures such as Sonic Boom and Simon Scott (Three Quarter Skies) has helped shape the project’s direction, but the focus remains on instinct and discovery. As noted in Sonic Boom’s sleeve text, the record reflects a clear commitment to the music itself—an approach that runs through every track here.
